Product Inventory Dashboard

Problem

I made an example spreadsheet detailing the inventory of a home goods and office supply store which keeps 50 products in stock. I needed to know how much of each item was in stock. I wanted profit to be easily calculated and identified. I wanted items to alert me before they went out of stock.

Process

• I built a spreadsheet that tracks 50 products with its own SKU taxonomy.
• Markup, profit, and total inventory value calculate automatically from the cost and sale price values.
• When stock hits my restock threshold, the spreadsheet automatically alerts me by highlighting the row.
• I also made a summary page that shows how many items I have in each category and which ones need attention.

Result

I easily track a hypothetical $63,500 in retail value across 4,000 units. When an item hits my restock threshold, I'm automatically alerted. All information is easily scannable. I also have a summary page that updates on its own as new data is entered!
